Vandring

This stately building, which used to house a monastery, stands near the Belgian border. When it was founded, the area was in the Duchy of Limburg and belonged to the Diocese of Liège. Not least because of the border location, the property looks back on an eventful history. The owners changed several times. Today the building serves as a residential building and is a listed building.

In 1441, Johannes von Eynatten acquired the Brandenburg estate, located in the far east of the Duchy of Limburg on the edge of the Raeren Forest. A few years later, he built a residential tower and surrounded the property with a moat fed by the Iterbach. The complex was later converted into a monastery.

Vandring

1331 there was a first mention. A knightly residential tower and the installation of the moat were probably built in the 15th century. In 1477 it was a Crusader monastery. A mill is mentioned in 1585. In the 19th century the complex was used for agriculture. A strong neglect took place in the 1970s and then after 1981 everything was rebuilt for residential purposes.
