Vandring

Prof. Carl Johann Gottfried Reichard (1787 - 1844) was an excellent chemist and balloonist. His wife Wilhelmine Johanna Sigmundine (1788 - 1848) was the first German woman to take off on flights in a balloon. The house of both of them, probably the oldest surviving building in German aviation, now belongs to a private individual. In the future, the house should develop as a museum location with a small exhibition.

Vandring

The family's former home with its current address at Reichardstrasse 9 is probably the oldest surviving building in German aviation and - how could it be otherwise - belongs to a professional balloonist who also floats in the region's skies with a red Wilhelmine Reichard balloon. He acquired the historic house in 1998 and restored it to its historical consistency by 2001.
