Part of the sphere of influence of the Niederaltteich monastery, the parish church in Aggsbach Markt was first mentioned in a document in 1148. It was a pilgrimage church from the 15th to the 18th century. It was originally built as a late Romanesque pillar basilica, but today the vault is Gothic. In the interior of the church, the high altar is remarkable, as is the ancient atmosphere of the vault.
