St. Josef was completely destroyed in the "All Souls Battle" in 1944 and rebuilt in 1952/53.
In 2011, the renovation of the church began. At the same time, the facade was also clad with slate. The renovation work was completed in 2014. This church in Vossenack is dedicated to Saint Joseph (Joseph), the foster father of Jesus Christ. Like Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, he is a man on the threshold between the Old and the New Testament. Joseph was from the house of David, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. He was a carpenter by trade and the fiancé of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The commemoration day of Saint Joseph in the calendar of saints is on March 19th, and on May 1st the church celebrates the feast of “Joseph the Worker”.
