=> The sandstone Saint Martin Church of Lennik, with the surrounding cemetery, is located on the slope of a ridge.

=> The massive square 15th-century tower and the supporting pillars give the church its grandiose impression.

=> In the right aisle you can see a beautiful wooden statue of Saint Martin.

=> The furniture (16th – 18th century) includes two offering blocks and two confessionals, a baroque pulpit and a rococo rood screen.

=> In the baptistery with carved oak closing is a stone Renaissance baptismal font by Fr. the Tengieter.

Saint Martin, to whom this house of God is consecrated, is - next to Saint Nicholas - one of the most popular saints of all. The memorial day of the former officer in the Roman army is November 11th. On the night after the famous “coat sharing”, when he surrendered half his army cloak to a freezing beggar, Jesus Christ appears to him in a dream. Martin then converted to Christianity and was later elected Bishop of Tours (France) - initially against his will.

The style is high Gothic, but on certain upper walls you can still see parts of an older Romanesque church from the 12th century.

In the right side aisle you can see a beautiful wooden statue of Saint Martin.

In the left transept hangs a 17th century painting: the Entombment, a copy of a work by Hugo van de Goes or Rogier van de Weyden.
