The Hanstholm Museum Center is located next to the two large bunkers from World War II. From the museum, there is access to the bunker complex, some of whose original inventory is still intact. Here, you can see crew bunkers, equipment
for ammunition handling, and the large gun bay of one of the 38 cm cannons.

During World War II, the Germans built a strong coastal fortification in and around Hanstholm due to its strategic location at the entrance to the Skagerrak.

Vandring

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the museum building. If there is one gun bunker to visit, it is Gun #4 (the westernmost of the four 38cm gun bunkers). You can also bring dogs in there and it's free of charge. But be careful, only enter with a flashlight!

The Hanstholm fortress on the Skagerrak was built during the German occupation of Denmark 🇩🇰 in World War II and is one of the first fortresses on the Atlantic Wall. The fortress belonged to the Navy and was occupied by Naval Artillery Division 118. The actual fortress has been destroyed today, but the area houses a museum that is built on the bunkers of the 2nd battery, the large battery.
