A special feature of the church is that Saint Boniface stands in front of the church on a pedestal. This is because the "Boniface Work" had invested considerable financial resources in the church building because Karlsruhe was more of a diaspora from a Catholic perspective. Therefore, there was a sculpture before the building was even built.

This church was consecrated in 1908. It was designed so elaborately because Karlsruhe was more of a diaspora from a Catholic point of view.
The well-known church architect Johannes Schroth, head of the archbishop's building authority in Karlsruhe, designed the neo-Romanesque church in a historicizing style with isolated Art Nouveau elements. Opposite on Sophienstraße you will also find many town houses from the same period.
