Vandring

The ossuary, built around 1250, is located in Bad Doberan on the monastery grounds. The ossuary was used to store skeletal remains from monk graves to be relocated. The wall and vault paintings inside were restored in 1880.
Visits and guided tours are possible.

The charnel house (according to Dehio: Karner St. Michael) is a listed building on the monastery grounds in Bad Doberan, a town in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In addition to the octagonal ossuary in Hardehausen Abbey near Warburg, it is the only surviving structure of its kind in northern Germany. It was included in the list of nationally significant monuments in 2002.
