Vandring

If you want to enjoy the view of the geothermal field from the adjacent mountain, you should (from the parking lot) take the trail from the right to the top. Left is only recommended with really good grip under the soles.
Tip 2: Do not touch the gray sulphurous soil. The sticks to the finger and you have the entire rest of the day to feel the need to wash your hands.
Luckily, there's the highlight nearby: "Outside shower" :)

Vandring

Well visited geothermal field in East Iceland. Here you should stop to experience the smell of sulfur, the smoking mini chimneys and the bubbling mud. For a short visit, a tour of the parking lot is enough. If you have more time, you should walk the circular route over the small hill "Námafjall" (mining mountain) (great view).
