The winding Dommel even has its own route, the Dommelkronkelpad, a 3.9 km loop along the Dommel, starting from the Dommelhuis. Very easy to do with children. peer.be/file/download/28874/4373160521299F74B76AB19B54EE5122

At Wijchmaal the Dommel meanders picturesquely through the landscape, bordered by green meadows and reed beds. The winding river creates small islands and rapids, which provides a beautiful scene for hikers and nature lovers.

The redevelopment of the Dommel and the Kleinbeek in the Mullemer Bemden nature reserve means great progress for the fauna and flora in this area. The Dommel will regain its natural appearance, which will improve the structure of the water. Several fish migration bottlenecks will be resolved, which will create more 'life' in and along the Dommel. In addition, it will also be made more pleasant for walkers by the construction of new walking and boardwalk paths. Source: dommel.riviercontract.be/news_items/31
