Due to dilapidation, this church had to be closed in 1835 and finally demolished in 1846. During the construction of the new church, the congregation moved into a converted barn on the Junkers farm. The present church was built between 1849 and 1852 according to the plans of the architect Friedrich Heinrich Kronenberg and consecrated on November 14, 1852.
