Vandring

Pyrgos is the highest place on the island, so the view in all directions is good. The place is criss-crossed with winding streets, small shops, cafes and restaurants. Pyrgos is the starting point for many signposted hikes, e.g. B. to Emporia, to the monastery Moni Profitis Ilias, to Mesa Gonia, Ancient Thera or to Perissa. There is a walking board at the bus stop: see photo. Pyrgos can be reached by bus from Perissa or Fira.

Pyrgos is the highest village on the Greek island of Santorini, and in the shadow of the more popular towns of Fira and Oia, it is often unfairly neglected by tourists. If you go here after visiting one of the above-mentioned places, the first thing that will surprise you here will be the mysterious calm that reigns in the village.
