The town hall, which is gigantic compared to the rest of the city centre, is probably the only highlight that justifies a further journey. Badly damaged during the war, it was rebuilt in the 1950s (although the tower was 4 m lower).

The town hall is not only one of the two landmarks of Remscheid, but also one of the most beautiful in Germany.

Cykling
The Bergische Löwe has stood in front of the Remscheid town hall since 1939 and was intended to remind "of the great deeds of the Führer". Corresponding inscriptions were removed after the war and the lion was interpreted as the Bergisches heraldic animal and symbol of the city.
The town hall was built from 1902-1906.
