Vandring

In 1867, when Graal and Müritz were still two separate villages, initiated the monastery pastor Friedrich Bunge († 1889 in Garwitz) of neighboring Ribnitz a Kirchneubau in Graal. The various attempts Bunges failed in each case at the upper church authority until Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV of Mecklenburg-Schwerin heard it and also campaigned for the establishment of a church. Bunge was honored for his perseverance on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the consecration of the church with a memorial stone located in front of the east side of the church.

The Lukaskirche Graal-Müritz is the church of the Evangelical-Lutheran Lukaskirchgemeinde in the seaside resort of Graal-Müritz. The congregation belongs to the Propstei Rostock in the Mecklenburg church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in northern Germany.
