    Vandring

At the fish pond of the ASV Rodalben or on the Merzaben-Leimen road you can find this huge sandstone, Knight Stone No. 231, An der Karlsmühle. This stone is looked after and maintained by the PWV. There used to be a mill here that was powered by the Merzalbe. In 1869 it was torn down, I did not find any remains of stone. The reservoir behind it is still there and is now used as a fish pond.

This is one of the more than 300 knight stones of the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV). It stands directly behind the guard rails in a sharp bend on the L 496 (Merzalben - Leimen) and is quite tall.

The reservoir for the Karlsmühle was in the valley between Kippkopf and Winschert-Berg. Unfortunately there is nothing left of the mill.
