Hikers can only pass this small, well-kept Marien wayside shrine (or the Mother of God's shrine or simply called the "Black Madonna" after the color of the statue) if they don't take the much more well-known path around the Obersee from Einruhr (which is also very popular with visitors, especially at weekends, if the weather is good), but instead walk upstream from Einruhr in the direction of Dedenborn.

Also at the Urfttalsperre at Einruhr is a "Black Madona", which is housed in a small brick house.
In the veneration of Mary, the "Black Madonna" is the image or statue of a Madonna whose face is black.
This can be attributed either to black painting or to the use of dark (black) wood or stone.
