Vandring

The Cranzahl dam was one of the two major dam projects in the GDR and was then called the dam of friendship. Bathing in it is not allowed, but the circular route is very beautiful. The dam supplies Annaberg-Buchholz and the surrounding area with drinking water.

The area around the dam is ideal for hiking and cycling.

Here you can enjoy peace and pure nature. As a starting point, you can again use the Cranzahler train station to make cycling tours to the dam, to the Bärenstein and to Neudorf.

Vandring

The blue pearl on the Bärenstein is located in an idyllic forest area. There are various cycling and hiking trails, including a beautiful circular route around the dam. As with any drinking water reservoir, swimming and water sports are not permitted in the TS Cranzahl.
