One of the oldest buildings in Toruń. Its construction probably began in the 13th century. There is a courtyard, underground, a dansker (toilets for knights in the castle!) and much more.

In 1233 Torun was founded by the German Order and quickly developed into a trading center. To protect this, the castle was built in 1260. In 1454 the castle was stormed by the rebellious residents of Torun, who had joined the Hanseatic League and the Prussian League. At that time Thorn was on the border with Poland. However, it was only destroyed after this event in order to avoid repopulation. This triggered the 13 year war between the Prussian Federation and the Teutonic Order. Today there is a small adventure park inside.

The castle has its own history and is interesting in itself, but for the entry price (PLN 20/person + map-brochure PLN 5) it is not worth visiting at all. It is enough to look at it from the outside
