🤩 The nature experience bridge was inaugurated today, May 26th, 2024. The new bridge spans the banks of the Schwentine with a length of approx. 42 m and is approx. 2.30 m wide without the railing. It consists mainly of an aluminum construction and has been placed on the concrete pillars of the previous wooden bridge. It has a non-slip surface on the plastic planks and will remain with us for a long time.

On the inside of the bridge railing, different, tactile silhouettes of the wildlife that lives here have been attached for visually impaired people.

Vandring

The Schwentine is one of the longest rivers in Schleswig-Holstein at 68 km[1]. It rises 1.7 km southwest of the highest point in the state, the Bungsberg, on a spring meadow northeast of the village of Bergfeld (Kasseedorf) and flows through the entire Holstein Switzerland with numerous large lakes. The river flows through the towns of Eutin, Bad Malente, Plön, Preetz, Schwentinental (Raisdorf and Klausdorf) and flows into the Kiel Fjord (Baltic Sea) in Kiel between the districts of Neumühlen-Dietrichsdorf and Wellingdorf.
