Vandring

There are three churches and a mausoleum next to each other. All churches have different construction goals and sizes. From the cemetery you have a beautiful view of the valley.

Vandring

Wonderful church located on a hill. Worth going up for a bit. From here you have a beautiful view of the valley as far as Meran and the castle in Schenna. Next to it is the mausoleum, which can only be visited as part of a guided tour.

The patronage "Maria (or in another spelling: Assumption of Mary") of this church in Schenna refers to one of the many memorial or festival days in honor of the Mother of God Mary. It goes back to the festival of her physical assumption into heaven, which the church celebrates annually on August 15th.
In many rural areas it is customary for bundles of herbs (called "Kruggweusch" in the Rhenish dialect) to be collected by the population on this day and blessed in the festival service.
