The former hunting lodge of Prince-Bishop Dietrich Adolph von der Recke is a listed building and is now owned by the Catholic parish of St. Johannes Nepomuk. The historic half-timbered building is now a Hövelhof landmark and a popular photo backdrop. The castle gardens are a great place to linger. The Hövelhof Tourist Information and the Ems Cycle Path office are located in the adjacent building.

elaborately restored building, which stands next to the former prince-bishop's hunting lodge in Hövelhof, has long served as a parish house for the community and today among other things. houses the tourist information.

The hunting lodge and park with other buildings are also to be restored by 2018 and some of them will be used again.

The hunting lodge is one of the most beautiful highlights in the small town of Hövelhof. In the center is the farm, which is closely interwoven with the origins of the community. The farm was first mentioned in the 1000s and is therefore one of the original farms. The beautiful half-timbered building was built in 1661 for Prince-Bishop Adolf von Recke as a hunting lodge. Almost 60 years later it was used as a Catholic rectory. In the following years, several extensions were added.
