Great central train station, where all the national and international railways flowed. Built at the end of the 19th century according to a project by José Luís Monteiro, it is presented according to a model of neo-Manueline and iron Renaissance architecture, following the canons of the great European stations, with an area of platforms, covered by a wide iron visor, supported by a column structure, with neo-Gothic decoration, following the model of the Saint-Lazare station, in Paris, with a simple interior and facades with neo-Manueline decoration, where the classic scheme of a "mezzanine" was presented.
