According to the oldest document, Scharnebeck's mill belonged to the Hasselhorst estate, which was first mentioned in 1646. The history of most of the other buildings on the mill farm also goes back to this time. Around 1900, a Francis turbine was installed and the interior of the mill was extensively modernized.
