Vandring

It goes without saying today that water of high quality is available almost indefinitely. This was by no means always the case. For long periods a more or less marked lack of water was part of everyday life, as in Zavelstein. It was possible to use wells and cisterns. 1624 provided the then lord of the castle with the construction of a water pipe for the supply of the castle and the city of Zavelstein with fresh spring water, which today feeds 15 Zavelsteiner well.

The Lammquelle well shaft used to supply the Lamm inn with water via the Teuchel pipeline. The Brechenloch was used to grow flax. There are signs at both locations with detailed information about their historical significance.
