"The old St. Matthäus churchyard Berlin is a historical cemetery in Berlin with many culturally and historically significant tombs, which are now under monument protection. The churchyard is located between the Großgörschenstrasse and the Monumentenstrasse in the Schöneberg district on the so-called Red Island. Like the 500 Meters further east, Kreuzberg, the cemetery gently slopes down to the Berlin glacial valley with the course of the Spree, since it is situated on the northern slope of the Teltow. "
