Lubenice is an ancient village on the Croatian island of Cres, perched atop a 380-meter-high ridge overlooking the Adriatic Sea. With a history spanning approximately 4,000 years, it features historic stone buildings that blend in with the surrounding cliffs. The village includes two well-preserved city gates and a church dedicated to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Notably, Lubenice was nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status in 2005. Today, it comprises about 40 buildings and has a very small population, offering visitors a glimpse into its rich historical and cultural heritage.
