Together with the Upper Blue lake and the Ibonet de l'Infierno, they are known as the Blue lakes or l'Infierno lakes.
All the Aragonese lakes are protected by being included in the Inventory of Singular Wetlands, therefore any activity that could modify the quality of their waters is prohibited. While bathing is not specifically mentioned, it is understood that bathing with chemicals on the skin such as sunscreen, deodorant, perfume, or lotion is negatively affecting water quality, so it cannot be done. The Ibón de Bachimaña Bajo is an ibón in the Aragonese Pyrenees of Huesca, located in the Tena Valley. It is located at 2190 meters above sea level. A dam has been built on it, which is why it is now called the Bachimaña Bajo reservoir, although it is actually an ibón used as a reservoir.
