Vandring
On the Wittow peninsula in the north of the island of Rügen there is a 45 meter high cliff consisting of chalk and clay till - Cape Arkona. Once a cult site of the Ranen, the almost northernmost point of Rügen is one of the most popular excursion destinations on the island. From the cliff you have an impressive view over the Baltic Sea.

Two very beautiful lighthouses. The large lighthouse can be accessed up to its viewing platform. The small lighthouse now houses a museum and an outpost of the registry office. In front of the small lighthouse there are many plaques set into the ground with dates of marriages that took place here.
There is a fee for the lighthouse's viewing platform.

Cape Arkona's excellent location was used for military purposes until 1990.
In the immediate vicinity of the two famous lighthouses are two military bunkers, which are also open to visitors for inspection
