About 25 km south of Nuremberg, in the green middle between Roth, Hilpoltstein and Allersberg, lies the Rothsee. Here you can relax all year round. Bathing friends are welcome guests in the spacious bathing areas of the 210-hectare water area. Sailors and surfers find on the Rothsee main barrier an ideal area.

Planning and completion took about 20 years. The Vorsperre was built between 1985 and 1990, the main barrier between 1985 and 1992. Completion and flooding of the main barrier took place in October 1993. [1] Residents of Hasenbruck and Fischhof had to be relocated for the construction. (Wikipedia)
