At this point / I would like to say something quickly / about the spring,
whereby it is in keeping with the art of poetry / if this 'spring' is a 'fountain':
And I would like to quote the incomparable humorist Heinz Erhardt (1909 - 1979), who was known to a wide audience for his wit and "Another Poem", with a short four-line verse:
"There is certainly a lot of beauty in the element, the wet one.
Because you can drink the water.
But you can also - not."

Here he is busy removing the bark from an oak branch with a wooden mallet. The sculpture is the work of the Koblenz sculptor Fritz Berlin. On November 11, 1989, it was placed on the fountain, which had already been inaugurated on April 30, 1989. The basalt reliefs on the fountain were created by Gerhard Zenzen from Ulmen based on designs by Heinrich Sausen from Treis.
