The town hall of Zwentendorf on the Danube was built in 1951 in the style of the southern German Renaissance and recently renovated. Together with the market square, the new middle school, the music center and the local history museum, it forms the cultural center of the municipality. In addition to the town hall, there are other historic buildings such as Zwentendorf Castle, which was built in the 18th century, and the Gasthaus zur Taverne, which is considered the oldest building in the municipality. These buildings characterize the townscape and reflect Zwentendorf's long history.

Zwentendorf an der Donau is a market town with 4012 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2016) in the district Tulln in Lower Austria. The place has become known as the location of the only, but never put into operation nuclear power plant in Austria.
