Vandring

The beginnings of the church go back to the 12th century. Over time, the church has undergone a number of structural changes. At the end of the 13th century it was rebuilt in the Gothic style, which characterizes the church building to this day. In 1290 the church was reconsecrated by Archbishop Erich of Magdeburg in honor of the Holy Cross. St. Nicholas of Myra was chosen as namesake and patron saint.

St. Nikolai is a listed church in the town of Wettin in the municipality of Wettin-Löbejün in Saxony-Anhalt. The patron of the church on Nikolai-Kirchplatz is Nicholas of Myra.
