    Vandring

Small, nice and very hidden - only village insiders can find it here. And scouts like us who try every possible and impossible path. This is a real insider tip!

    Vandring

Really a great, winding path right along the lake, if you come from Kasseedorf, be careful not to miss the turnoff 200m in front of the radio mast and walk on the right / north side of the Schwentine, otherwise you will end up in a dead end on the field,

    Mountainbiking

A small bathing area at the Stendorfer See, which invites you to linger (or even swim?!). Table and trash can are available and clean (09/2022).
You can get there on nice paths if you either follow the course of the Schwentine from the east from Kasseedorf or follow the shore of Lake Stendorf from the north-west.

It's more of a tranquil, secluded natural area for bathing.

Are there specific rules or permits required for swimming in Stendorfer See?

The Stendorfer See is primarily utilized as a fishing lake and is privately owned by the Stendorf Manor House. While the specific swimming spot is frequented by visitors, there is no mention of official swimming permits being required. However, as it's a private lake, visitors should always be respectful of the natural environment and any unstated local customs or rules.

What are the options for parking when visiting the Swimming Spot at Stendorfer See?

Parking directly at the secluded swimming spot is limited. Visitors typically park in nearby Kasseedorf or at other access points and then walk to the spot. While the area is quite rural, public transport options to Kasseedorf, the nearest village, might exist. From Kasseedorf, you would need to walk to the swimming spot. The best approach is to check local bus schedules for routes serving Kasseedorf and then plan your walk along the Schwentine river or the lake shore, which are described as pleasant paths.

Are dogs allowed at the Swimming Spot at Stendorfer See, and are there any specific rules?

There is no explicit mention of dog access rules for the swimming spot itself. However, as a natural area popular with hikers, it's generally expected that dogs are kept on a leash and owners clean up after them. Given the lake's private ownership and primary use for fishing, it's always best to exercise caution and respect for other visitors and the wildlife.

What is the water quality like in Stendorfer See for swimming?

The Swimming Spot at Stendorfer See is widely regarded as a 'hidden gem' and an 'insider tip,' suggesting it generally remains less crowded than more well-known bathing areas. The Stendorfer See is situated within a 'rolling moraine landscape' and 'hilly moraine landscape' in Holstein Switzerland.
