The village church in Hämerten is a characteristic for the Altmark Romanesque field stone construction. The tower is not, as usual, on the west side, but on the east side. It therefore belongs to the 7 "wrong" churches of the Altmark. The church from the 13th century is the oldest and at the same time most attractive choral tower church in the old march region.

The church is listed, the roof structure is the oldest with a wooden structure in Germany. A very small church from the 12th century that is well worth seeing.
