Graf Faber-Castell lives privately with his family in the small town of Dürrenhembach, surrounded by a large amount of forest property. Dürrenhembach is a small hamlet with beautiful houses and was once the summer residence of the Fabers line, first mentioned as a clearing settlement in 1325, a large overexploitation was carried out here in the surrounding forests. The name Dürrenhembach comes from this period, "Dürre am Hembach".
