Insects are extremely important for the ecosystem. The city of Geesthacht would like to counteract the loss of species and is giving a series of tips for natural garden design. Today we're talking about the importance of dead wood, sand and clay. A brochure on garden design is available in the town hall.

Vandring
A bee path for wild bees has been created here in this area. Here you will find loose piles of sand, clay, wood and everything strewn with flowers to collect pollen. There is also a sign at each station that explains why this is something special for the bees. The absolute highlight is the beehive, which can be opened on both sides. So you can watch the bees together with the queen wonderfully at work.
