The Theben castle ruin, which towers on a high rock over the confluence of the Danube and the March, is one of the most important archaeological sites in Central Europe.
The enchanting landscape around the ruin and a wonderful view of the expanse make this place an unforgettable tourist destination. Thebes has a very important role in Slovak history, because this place provides the evidence of the first settlement in the country. The strategic location gave reason to fight for this castle thousands of years ago.
