Vandring
The Kurmark estates had opened an "insane asylum" in 1801, which existed until 1865. In 1897 the Neuruppin State Institute was built south of the city. It consisted of 10 large and 7 smaller houses for 1,600 patients. The institution also had its own rail connection. The clinic was renamed several times, in 1958 in Neuruppin Hospital for Neurology and Psychiatry and in 1977 in District Nerve Clinic.
