One of the most precious pieces of equipment in the former St. Leodegar monastery church in Niederehe is the organ built in 1714 by the famous master organ builder Balthasar König (1684-1756).

Vandring

The monastery church has a unique feature: the bells do not ring at 12 noon as usual, but at half past 11. In the past, the monks and lay brothers were "called" early from their work in the monastery garden, at the fish ponds and from the fields so that they could be in the church on time for the midday prayer.

The monastery church also houses the oldest playable organ in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Balthasar-König organ dates from 1714 and is affectionately called "the little queen" in Niederehe.
