The Protestant church in Sohren occupies a special position among the late Gothic church buildings on the Hunsrück. It has a tower with a rare octagonal ground plan, which is also placed on the vault of the chancel in a rather bold construction. The parish seat in Sohren, which was attested early on, and the Michael patronage of this church make a very early church building probable. The oldest parts of today's church date back to the 15th century.
The baroque hall was built in 1761/62.
The organ was built in 1964 by Gebr. Oberlinger.
