There are four large tapestries in the cathedral that show the time of Christianization. The former monastery was built in a strategically important location due to the springs.

Church building from the 12th century, choir redesigned in the 15th century, Wunibaldstumba, Walburgis burial chapel, cloister, lapidarium, heath fountain.

Muenster

Former monastery church: Romanesque, three-aisled pillar basilica with transept, vestibule and two west towers (1160 -1180). In place of the Romanesque choir with five apses, a Gothic choir from the 14th/15th century. Century Important tombs: in the crossing Tumba of St. Wunibald, in the western part a burial chapel with Tumba of St. Walburga, in the northern aisle tombs of abbots, monastery bailiffs and nobles.

Heidenheim Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery founded in 752 by Saint Wunibald, abbot of the monastery, and his brother Willibald, Bishop of Eichstätt, as a missionary post.

After Willibald's death, his sister, Saint Walburga, took over the management of the monastery as a double monastery for men and women.

The first church was built and consecrated in 778. From 878 to 1188, a new Romanesque building with a nave and transept was constructed as St. Wunibald's Minster, which was expanded with a Gothic choir in 1363.
