Vandring

The chapel houses the bones of the patron saint of Saargau and neighboring Lorraine, St. Oranna. According to tradition, she came to the Saar with other messengers of faith from the Irish-Scottish region in the 7th century to preach, help and heal the gospel.

Buried in a common sarcophagus with her companion Cyrilla, she found her final resting place in the parish church of the long lost village of Eschweiler, the site of today's Oranna chapel.
