The so-called Edelhof is one of the most important historic buildings in Kirrweiler. Here, at feudal times, knights and ministerials (nobles) resided when they were in the service of the neighboring castle. The Edelhof was built at the end of the 16th century. After the French Revolution, which led to the demise of the prince-bishop's palace, the Edelhof was privately owned. Today, the Edelhof is a village community center for events and celebrations.

For us one of the best places in the Palatinate - in Kirrweiler this time - to take a break. The beer garden and the really beautiful sun terrace of the Edelhof restaurant in Kirrweiler, Kirchstr. 18 (edelhofgg.de) was pleasantly quiet, good food (e.g. handmade spaetzle with chanterelles on the season menu) and, as an extra, a free charging station for e-bikers. What more do you want? Off to Kirrweiler and much, much further ...

The Edelhof is one of the most important historical buildings in Kirrweiler, which was built at the end of the 16th century. The noble court was the residence of the castle men, i.e. the knights and ministerials (nobles) of the previous castle owners.

The Edelhof was completely renovated between 1996 and 2001.
Today the building houses a ballroom and a foyer for private celebrations, as well as a library and a youth room.
On the western ground floor - the former knight's hall - there is a nice restaurant with a great outdoor seating area.
