Cykling
State capital of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate and at the same time its largest city. Mainz is the start or end point of the Main Cycle Path. Among other things, the city is known for the headquarters of ZDF and of course it is the hometown of the Mainzelmännchen.
Already at the last ice age hunters rested here 20.000 - 25.000 years ago. Much later, Mainz became episcopal city and electoral residence city. As a result, there is much to discover and you should spend a little more time planning your stay.

The Mainz Sltstadt is always worth a visit. Just stroll through the alleys, take a look at the cathedral or stop in one of the many restaurants.
