In the middle of the Trubach valley, the state-approved climatic health resort of Egloffstein climbs up the rocky slope. The houses cling to the mountain like swallows' nests, crowned by the thousand-year-old castle of the Freiherren von Egloffstein. A place of romance and idyll, fountains and springs.

Around Egloffstein there are a lot of hiking possibilities. On the one hand the Waalweg and then through the Todtsfelder Tal towards Thuisbrunn and on the height back. In the other direction along the Trubachtales it runs beautifully on the northern side of the valley along the water. With a little more uphill and downhill you can walk from the castle over the Konstanzenruh to the Felsentor and Wilhelmsfelsen, or even a little further to the Frauenhöhle. On the other side of the valley, some viewpoints such as the Pfarrfelsen and the Spiegelfelsen.
