Chester Cathedral is a must-see for any visitor to the city of Chester. Founded as a Benedictine abbey in 1092, this incredible structure was subsequently rebuilt around 1250 and took 275 years to transform the building into the stunning Gothic-style building we see today.

Chester Cathedral has the most complete complex of monastic buildings in the country, including a Georgian square and series of streets, the remains of Roman barracks on Dean's Field and the largest open green spaces within the walls, popular with both locals and locals are visitors alike.
