The Trinity Church is the former church of the Franciscans. According to their own records, the Franciscans built a monastery in Görlitz in 1234. The Wirsinge family from Görlitz had given them the land next to the city wall. Similar to Zittau, its monastery wall was completely integrated into the city wall.

The Trinity Church is a Protestant church in Görlitz.
It was built between 1234 and 1245 as the monastery church of the Franciscan monastery on today's Obermarkt.
In 1564 the monastery was converted into a grammar school, the church served as a school and from 1712 as a parish church.
