The idyllically located Georgsteich on the boundary with the municipality of Hatzbach was artificially created around 1712 when the nearby Wolfsmühle was built, because the Hatzbach did not have enough water to operate the mill. It got its name from the operator of the mill Georg Wolf. The mill stopped operating in the 1940s. Since then, the Georgsteich has been used as a fire fighting pond. It also offers a habitat for numerous water birds, amphibians and insects.
