Vandring

The highlights "Holy Tree" and "Römer Brunnen" on the "Haltener Weg", which is wide along the motorway, turn out to be little worth seeing.
The thoroughly informative "WALDBAND-Kubus" presents itself here in an aesthetically unpleasing way, not only because it has to serve as an open-air toilet at the back.

Cykling

A real eye-catcher: a 64 cubic meter large wooden cube is permanently on 27 September at the crossroads St. John's Cross in Oer-Erkenschwick. The cuboid erected by the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR) illustrates the daily growth of wood in the 5,500-hectare Haard - and points to the great importance of forests for climate protection. The cube is one of the numerous RVR contributions to the opening week of the climate metropolis RUHR 2022 from 27th September to 3rd October. The cube also presents the "WALDband", a project of the Regionale 2016.
