In 1865 a lighthouse, the Faro de Martiño, was put into operation at the northern tip of Lobos. The lighthouse has been working automatically since 1968.
The family of the last lighthouse keeper stayed on Lobos and today runs the only restaurant on the island near the ferry terminal.
